How to reach the campus

The campus is easy to explore on foot, with a beautiful lake nearby for those feeling adventurous, but it is situated outside the city of Chambéry. To reach it from the Chambéry train station, you can take bus line A heading toward "Technolac" (or "Université Jacob" in the opposite direction) and get off at the "Université Le Bourget" stop, which is located near the conference building.

For those who enjoy staying active, the campus is accessible by bike via a dedicated bike lane that runs alongside the main road, separated from traffic and passing through scenic countryside. Keep in mind, though, that it’s a 10 km ride, so you might want to bring a change of clothes. Here is a possibility for bike rental in the city.

Social dinner venue

The social dinner will be held at Restaurant Le Sporting, in Chambéry city center, offering an authentic local experience with plenty of cheese.

How to reach Chambéry

  • By plane

Le Bourget-du-Lac has a local airport, but it serves only regional and fez international flights. The closest international airport (67 km) is in Lyon (LYS), and is conveniently accessible by direct bus or a combination of train and shuttle. Additionally, Geneva (GVA) airport is nearby (76 km) and can be reached by train.

  • By train

Chambéry train station is located in the city center, and the entire city easily reachable on foot. By train, Lyon is just 1.5 hours away, while Paris can be reached in under 3 hours on a direct route or up to 4.5 hours with connections. Turin is less than 3 hours away by train (maintenance work on the line near the border should be nearly complete).

  • By car

Chambéry is located at the foot of the French Alps, between Bauges and Chartreuse mountains, and is well-connected by highways. It is thus easily accessible by car, offering the chance to take in stunning alpine views along the way.
